Miles for Michael Pittston Tomato Festival 5K and Fun Walk


The run will take place on Saturday, August 17th at 10 a.m. Pre-registration forms can be obtained by calling 570-574-0463. Anyone who has not pre-registered may register the day of the race. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Greater Pittston YMCA.

The 3.1 mile course will include downtown Pittston, the Fort Jenkins Bridge, West Pittston(briefly) and the Water Street Bridge.

Streets will be traffic controlled and the miles will be marked. The course begins at Main and William streets and ends at the Tomato Festival grounds.

The entry fee is $25 before August 1st and $30 after August 1st. Walk entry fee is $15. Checks can be made payable to : The Pittston Festival Association and the mailing address is 110 Baltimore Ave, West Pittston PA 18643.

Traffic will be blocked from entering downtown Pittston at 9:30 a.m. The Pittston Tomato Festival Parade will be held at 10:30 a.m. and all parade participants are asked to line-up by 9:30 a.m.

Last year’s run was extremely successful. A total of 300 participants enjoyed the race and many stayed after the race to enjoy the festival. A free t-shirt will be given to the first 150 runners to register. Race volunteers will receive a race staff shirt. Awards will be given in each age group and to the Top three Male and Female runner’s. The awards ceremony will be held after the run at the festival bandshell.
